Series of On-Site Printmaking Workshops: Tower Behavioral Health of Acadia Healthcare System
Printmaking Workshops
Monotype printmaking workshops developed for a state-of-the-art behavioral hospital. The prints were created by staff, patient alumni as well as community members. 104 artworks were chosen to create a body of unique artwork that became part of the new hospitals lobbies, nurses stations, corridors, as well as adult and childrens' unit.

SRA met with the CEO along with key executives to customize a series of printmaking events and artwork for the new state-of-art behavioral hospital.
The staff, alumni patients, and community at large were invited to explore the monotype printmaking process and create magical and serendipitous original prints for their new hospital!
Working from nature and found objects, SRA developed nature based themes for each section of the new state-of-the-art behavioral hospital and its large and expansive patient wing.
In addition, we marketed and promoted each workshop with materials, e-blast invitations and customized templates, along with Sandy Rosen, staff facilitators offered assistance and guidance to those patients with special needs.
The 104 prints were professionally printed large scale, and later installed to be displayed in the hospital's lobbies, executive offices, nurses stations, dining areas, as well as sub-acute corridors and hallways. The adult and children's unit is now easily identified from the themed artworks as well.
The original prints remained with the participants to frame and proudly display.
The attendees found transformative ways to express their ideas with dynamic and unique prints from this wonderful printmaking medium.
The artwork inspire the patients, staff, and visitors, and validate the importance of the power of art and healing!
